RUN for Japan

 Dosokai will run for victims of unprecedented disaster happened last week in Northeast region of Japan. It won’t be a competition, but will be a peaceful group running.

*Dosokai is a group of NY runners from a region (Hokkaido) in Japan

Date: March 20th, 2011 (Sunday)
Place: Central Park (Meeting Point: 72nd and 5th avenue, Just outside of the park entrance)
Start: 8:30, 10:00 and 11:30am. (3x 6miles counterclockwise)


We would like to welcome all of you to run with us in any or all of three runs. Please meet us at the starting point at 8:30, 10:00 or 11:30am. If you are not a runner, please cheer us at the park.

We’d like to ask all of you to kindly bring one dollar per person for donation. (we decided not to accept checks this time)

As we meet, we would ask you to sign up and we will provide you a bib with our logo(please bring a few safety pins!).

Please make your donations at the meeting place before or after the run(Our members will be there 8am-1pm).

Dosokai members will be wearing “Run for Japan” blue T-shirts so that you can find us easily.

If you are a slow runner or a fast runner and won’t be able to run with us, please feel free to run at your own pace.

Also, please keep hydrating yourself, and warm up yourself before the run so that you won't get hurt!

The amount we will raise will be donated through Japanese American Association of NY, which has been supporting Japanese community in NY for over 100 years. We will update the process on our Facebook page( http://www.facebook.com/runforjapan), or by email if you provide us your email address.

We will run rain or shine. There is NYRR’s “NYC Half” from 7:30am on the same date, and the park is expected to be crowded around 8:30am. If you wish to join us in 8:30 round, please meet us a little early to avoid the confusion.
